2/2 “Insecurity/Perception”

“Our muse stood before us earlier bare and exposed…now she stands subject to public attention but proceeds to “cover up”. She controls how she will be perceived and works to present herself the way she would rather be seen…what society expects her to look like.”

Society more often than not finds a way to set up a template or a certain standard of what beauty, success & happiness should be.

We find ourselves struggling and chasing these ideals that shouldn’t be the norm.

We tend to feel like failures when we don’t acquire these items or reach these “milestones”.
Everyone’s path is different, to qualify your success by the similarity it holds to another’s is not only unrealistic but also very unfair to you as a person.

We each have certain interests, skills and traits attributed to us. With these attributes we are tasked with making a life for ourselves and finding ways to add value to ourselves.

If we all follow a particular mould that society passes as the standard, we slowly lose the ability to be ourselves and lose the things that make us unique.

Next time you feel insecure about the things that make you who you are, remember there is only one of you and that person deserves to be loved, seen and appreciated for their genuine self.
